Hi, my name is Zach Davis, I am one of the brothers of Brandon Bradford. I was heading for school on May 20, 2002, when the phone rang in the car, my mom answered it. With horror in her voice she yelled with pain in her eyes, and I ask what was wrong? Words that she couldn’t bare to say came out of her mouth, “Brandon has died in a motorcycle accident.” My whole life changed in that one split second. My brother was gone, and I couldn’t do anything about it. But I’m here to say all of the things we did together. Like this one time when we just got my mom’s car out of the car wash, and we had some time to spare. So we went in the back of this Harkins theater. He bolted down the parking lot and jerked on the hand brake. We did so many fish tails and spin outs, I quit taking count. Those were one of the most fun times I had with Brandon. But others I wish not to talk about because they are numerous. Every time I went up to Brandon or look at him, I would say, how lucky am to have him as a brother. Even on his bad days, when he would decide not to come to a party or something, I would be disappointed. But he would cheer my face up every time he called me Shak, or Shak diesel. Brandon’s daughter, Jazzman, will be missing out on a opportunity to have a great father. But we know Brandon is in heaven because he called his wife and asked for forgiveness and said that he loved her. And we all know that, that right there is enough to get in to heaven. Brandon has left this world, but has not left my heart. But we all will meet Brandon in heaven, he just took the early bus to heaven, and we will soon be on that bus on the way up to Brandon. I wish I could of just woken up, and get away from this horrible dream, but I never did. I never got to say good-bye, or look him straight in the face with his eyes looking into mine, and say I loved him. I’m probably not going to recover from my brother’s death, but it will be burned into my heart for the rest of my life. I’m saying again that I’m Brandon’s brother. And I love him. Thank You for listening. |
